Bliss in Bali
Translation provided by mLingua: polskiI’m in Bali
It’s lovely here!
Perhaps the lovers of India may feel piqued, but on the basis of what I’ve seen so far, I think Indonesia is a hundred times better! It’s clean, it’s pleasing, it’s ARTISTIC, it’s totally green here.
The prices here are a little bit lower than in India, and if they are at the same level, it certainly means that they guarantee better standard. There is a noticeable difference in mentality. People seem to be better organized and more enterprising, but, in addition, just like in India, they are kind, smiling and, of course, very helpful.
I’ve put myself up in Ubud. Ubud, situated in the interior par of the island, is a typical holiday resort . Artistry of this place manifests itself in details. Let’s take carved door, for example. In Europe you would admire it in a church, in Bali it is an ordinary front door to a house. Some sculptures, figurines, ornaments and paintings are visible at every turn. In addition, there are some breathtaking gardens and vegetation here and it all fits together into a whole very pleasing to the eye.
Local inhabitants are immersed in religion, even more than it’s observed in India. There are very often some celebrations or processions. You can find a family temple in every yard and on every corner you come across carefully prepared sesajen, i.e. offerings to deities composed of flowers and rice. The offerings are always fresh, because the women change them three times a day.
I am going to stay up here for the upcoming month. Here I have a perfect place for work, as well as for December contemplation, annual summing-up and coming up with new plans![]()
For now I invite you to see the report from my flat. Soon you can expect more films, including a few back from India.
P.S. I got my hot water back
P.S.2 Here are some Hotels in Ubud
